We are a family run speciality cheese shop and restaurant in the heart of Bree Street's food revolution. Luke and wife, Jessica, have 10 years experience in cheese. Luke was a cheese maker and monger (carer of cheese) in the UK before travelling South Africa to look at the cheese scene here. They discovered that South African cheese in the supermarket was not reflecting the wonderful artisanal cheese makers around the country, and decided to set up a specialist shop to act as a platform for cheesemakers from all over. Having had a successful first 21 months, they have decided to open in the evenings (starting 3 nights a week) and to be open 7 days a week. As a result, they are looking for a manager to help them and various roles including waiters/sales persons.
The applicant must have experience in all operations of managing a busy restaurant/retail shop (including rotas, HR, plating/portion/stock control, POS back office, cashing up, working knowledge of excel, waitering).
Any applicant for front of house MUST be able to make good coffee and MUST be interested in learning about cheese - since a large part of their job will be to sell cheese.
Bonus: Experience in teaching, marketing, knowledge of wine/sommelier training.
Must love interacting with people, be positive, have energy and tolerate stress.
