Location: Atlantic Seaboard, Cape Town

Well established, high volume restaurant in Cape Town, wishes to appoint a Sous Chef to assist the Head Chef in leading and managing the kitchen and team.  The restaurants offers a variety of dishes in an upmarket environment and is open 7 days a week.  Duties will include:

  • Staff management 
  • Assist with food purchases, ordering, receiving and stock control
  • Stock take of food ensuring the budgeted food cost is achieved and maintained, keeping wastage to a minimum
  • Hands on food preperation, cooking and managing the pass
  • Assist in creating new dishes to run as specials during the various seasons

Candidates must have previous experience as a Snr Chef de Partie / Sous Chef in a busy upmarket, high volume restaurant environment.  Have strong managerial skills and controls and be able to work shifts.  Own reliable transport is essential.
