Heritage Hospitality Recruitment has a fantastic new challenge available for a seasoned Guide with horse riding experience, and a natural ability to lead, to join the team at a Luxury Lodge in a stunning Waterberg reserve.
Requirements and Experience:
Riding experience: Minimum 5 years, preferably someone who has trained horses or has come from a competitive riding background with a decent knowledge of horses. Must have a drivers license and PDP
Guiding Experience: Preferably 5 years guiding experience but will consider 2 years and up.
Guiding qualifications: Minimum requirements of FGASA level 1. Lead/Back up Trails guide qualification will be advantageous
Care of own horses (usually 6 out of 50), leading horse safaris in an area of a 4000ha private reserve which has 3 of the big 5, hosting lunches and dinners (not daily- roster based schedule)
Other skills needed:
Must be a team player, the candidate will be part of a 40+ team in which the guides are a total of 10+. Must have excellent communication skills- working with international guests on a daily basis. Must be able to hold a conversation i.e. the ability to discuss a variety of topics with a range of nationalities from around the world.
Fgasa Level 2, Trails guide lead or back up, an individual with interest or knowledge in other areas i.e. maintenance, vehicles, FOH, lodge management. (Male or female position), somebody with natural leadership qualities
The Salary is negotiable depending on experience. The package will also include - Food and Housing provided, 6 days off a month, 22 days consecutive annual leave and bonus depending on performance.
