The Senior Pastry CDP role is essential to the success of the culinary operation and in providing guests with a special and memorable dining experience. The Senior Pastry CDP needs to uphold strong discipline in the kitchen ensuring staff are performing in a professional manner and delivering food to the set standard.


Minimum Experience and Qualification Required:

  • 3-5 years experience in a 5-star hotel kitchen or similar environment
  • Must be hard working and dedicated
  • Must be motivated, enthusiastic and energetic
  • Must be a team player, with a positive attitude
  • Must be willing to work shifts
  • Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible at all times
  • Own transport preferable

Key Performance Objectives:

  • Full responsibility for the hotels dessert operations
  • The development of desserts
  • Have an artistic ability to always strive to make desserts appealing
  • Maintain an inventory of ingredients while striving to achieve cost efficiency
  • Take responsibility for month end stock takes
  • Have outstanding product knowledge in food
  • Performing duties and following instructions to the fullest
  • Offering engaging and empathetic service
  • Maintain a high standard of hygiene
  • Strong communication skills and working within a tight team unit
  • Resourceful, out the box thinking and creativity
  • Leading the team by example
  • Keeping discipline through application of the correct processes and liaison with HR
