The potential candidate will manage an exclusive range of spirits, liqueurs, beverages and the tobacco portfolio which includes cigars and shisha products. The applicant, if successful will be required to travel to various island resort properties all over the Maldives conducting training programs related to bar operations and cocktails, as well as guest focused cocktail and drink events as value added support structures. The applicant will be required to form good working relationships with the management teams in each resort to encourage sales and product placement from the company’s extensive portfolio.
Application Experience and Knowledge Requirements
A foundation in professional bartending with up to date knowledge on current drinks trends and movements.
Experience with conducting training sessions to a group of participants in the subjects of liquor product knowledge and cocktails preparation.
Experience in brand management, representation or working in a sales related position would be highly beneficial.
Excellent Administration, Communication and Organisational skills is a must and an important part of the position.
Understanding of the broad spectrum of different alcohol types and production - beer, wine, liqueurs, sprits, aperitifs etc.
Knowledge on the major spirit categories, production techniques and service standards.
Proficient with all ’Tools of the Trade’ related to professional bartending and a good technical approach and bar style.
Overall the position will require a passionate individual willing to work in Asia for 2-3 years. The ability to work professionally in a team of Sommeliers and Sales Managers, assisting them with their accounts and offering bar expertise and advice as needed. The position requires a structured approach to communication and follow ups, with good command of the written and spoken English language. A well groomed and confident individual that has a deep enjoyment of all things industry related.
