4 star hotel cape town, near the airport seeks well spoken assistant food and beverage manager to join their team.
Equivalent to grade 12
Equivalent to grade 12 - Advanced mathematic skills
Excellent communication skills in English Language – Verbal and Written to be able to communicate with the guests and with management level.
Physically fit to walk and stand for long hours and to carry and lift equipment up to 25kg
EDUCATION/ FORMAL TRAINING
Hospitality Diploma. Experience with stock control systems and POS systems.
A positive, flexible attitude to work is essential, as is the ability to work well under pressure in order to meet the demand of the guests. Must have sound knowledge of food & beverage products. At least 3 years’ experience in an F&B/or assistant management position.
SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for managing the day to day food and beverage operations of the hotel in a professional manner, following legal and sanitation standards and codes, basic discipline and reviewing of employees. Always ensuring that Guests receive fast, friendly and efficient food and beverage service, and maintains an upbeat atmosphere, that appeals to a diverse clientele. Ensure that the department follows all the requirements of the operational standards manual.
This position involves that you assist the F&B Manager with design and review of the menu’s and maintain records of sales breakdown and staff training. Provide management with related reports on profits, losses and variances. Responsible for the control of the inventory in the food and beverage department, as well as the below:
Food and Beverage Service
Administration and stock/equipment control
Guest Service, Relationships, General Safety and Security
Environmental and Social Responsibility
