We are looking for a dynamic well-presented, well-spoken Assistant Lodge Manager with an exuberant personality who excels in guest relations and can provide the best service experience to our guests. Someone who will be able to hold conversations with our local and international guests at this exclusive luxury lodge, as 80% of our guests are international. You will be responsible for Guest Relations and hosting all meals. Meet and greet all guests on arrival and departure. Good interaction/communication with fellow staff and guests. You will be reporting to the General Manager. Checking FOH duties are completed and if necessary, to do them when they are on leave such as daily stock takes, butler allocations, feedback form graphs. Host dinner, be available for late check-ins, early departures especially for VIPs, site inspections, your presence will always be required, this will be split between manager and yourself respectfully. Compile the daily menus allocations for the kitchen weekly/monthly, guest stationery, personalized welcome notes. Perform room checks, check ins and outs, site inspections. Check day sheets daily and that all information has been allocated accordingly. Oversee FOH and see to it that all the duties are done. Preparation – oversee all meal set ups are ready for guests. Duties when Manager on leave: oversea and answer emails, morning meetings, allocation of days’ work for all department heads, orders, overseeing kitchen, housekeeping etc. Pastel inputs for Bar when manager on leave. Checking day sheets. Checking and following bookings and making sure all information is corresponded to all departments.
Hospitality Management Diploma or any related qualification.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is a smooth operator, able to keep calm under stressful situations and can think on his feet. Must have excellent Administration skills. Good knowledge of Pastel, eRes and Outlook. Must have previous experience in a 5* Lodge environment.
Shared house - Single room accommodation. Meals on duty. Uniform. 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off. Pension fund. Medical Aid.
