Luxury boutique hotel and wine estate seeks a Marketing & Sales Manager with expertise in the Hospitality & Tourism sectors

As head of marketing and sales you are responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, telemarketing, direct mail, appointment calls to DMC’s and tour Operators as well as arranging and hosting site-inspections and educational stays to the hotel. You will also develop strategic action plans for the hotel to drive measurable, incremental sales revenue. You will maintain existing trade relations and grow emerging markets and opportunities through a mix of trade, social, direct and digital marketing and sales efforts

You will also work closely with the reservations department, to develop strategies to maximise REVPAR and grow market share.You will be responsible for planning, developing and implementing all sales, marketing, communication strategies and public relations activities. To increase brand awareness, communicate promotions to all relevant target markets, address hotel business needs and meet the overall communication strategy that comprises three aspects: wine, food and accommodation. Coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the appropriate internal staff of La Petite Ferme and outsourced companies. Finally, the position reports to the Executive management team.

This position participates with the management staff in charting the direction of the organization, assuring its accountability to all constituencies, and ensuring its effective operation.

Sales and marketing responsibilities and duties:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the hotel marketing, sales and communication plan and associated activities including co-ordination of digital marketing.
  • Develop specific digital strategies and identify requirements for all creative, including: email, banner ads, landing pages/microsites, mobile sites/apps and website development. Manage all digital campaigns, including search engine marketing (Google Adwords , Google Hotel ads, Meta Search engines), OTA’s and other revenue generating digital campaigns.
  • Create, develop and market key events for the hotel, especially during key business periods
  • Assist the company Directors with the preparation of marketing, advertising and sales plans in relation to the company’s annual budget.
  • Custodian of the marketing calendar and all branded materials
  • Coordinating promotional activities surrounding the calendar in line with a content and campaign strategy including all media activities, social media and digital marketing
  • Setting sales, occupancies and revenue targets through a strategic sales plan
  • Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as required.
  • Administration and co-ordination of all logistical and promotional activity for important trade shows and other platforms in which the brand is represented
  • Managing, segmenting and updating databases and the communication strategies in line with the different market segments
  • Act as a brand ambassador and manage guest feedback including responding to reviews on all relevant platforms as well as reporting on customer feedback trends and reporting back to the relevant departments.
  • Co-ordination of all trade relations and guest relations and being the link between the departments and sales.
  • Manage and control marketing & communication budgets by using resources effectively
  • Implement PR campaigns to celebrate successes and awards and the promotion of products
  • Manage and co-ordinate the public relation campaigns - including writing of press releases, reporting and filing of media clips, working with and managing an outsourced media liaison
  • Develops strong partnerships with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness.
  • Providing strategic input and direction for the brand, developing style guides, templates, and other materials and advising internal and external stakeholders/3rd party consultants on issues relevant to the brand.
  • Liaise with owners so as to clearly direct all sales and marketing actions and plans internally and externally, both domestically as well as internationally.
  • Compiling of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
  • Organize and run the company’s required sales and marketing meetings.
  • Effective leadership of the team so as to motivate, grow, promote and develop a strong department in the Hotel.

Must have own reliable car with a valid drivers' license-specific requirement

Superior project management and time management skills

Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media

Knowledge in web-design/graphic is a bonus

Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges

An advanced level of computer literacy with special focus on hospitality data use systems, as well as, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Must be proactive and curious

A passion for the industry, have a positive attitude and the ability to think out of the box

Extensive experience (minimum 6-10 years) representing a luxury hospitality brand in marketing and sales


Relevant diploma or degree in hotel/hospitality sales &Marketing / Travel and Tourism
